What's Wrong With Bill? by Ill Bill

What's Wrong with Bill

Nice Necro beat, Bill rhymes a bit about himself and the type of life he lives, not outstanding but a good intro 3/5

Overkill

Another nice beat, great bass. Bill spits hardcore rhymes basically saying how deadly him and his crew is. Bill's lyrics and flow are nice and the album continues nicely. Still kind of feels like its building up to something better though. 3.5/5

The Anotomy of a School Shooting

Necro prooves again why he is regarded as one of the dopest producers in the underground hiphop scene. Real nice beat that suits Bill's hard hitting style. In this track Bill tells the story of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold who committed the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. Some people argue that some of the facts Bill uses aren't actually factual, regardless its a compelling piece of first person story telling. 4.5/5

Glenwood Projects

First posse cut on the album feat. Necro and Goretex and for a bonus Uncle Howie chats about the projects at the start. fucked up old crack head. Another great Necro beat, he is on fire so far. Again no pretence or hidden deep meanings in this one. Just hard hitting lyrics about the projects and how tough and violent they are. not one of my favorite subject matters but the psychological crew have a way of almost making it exceptable and certainly a much more interesting way of telling such stories than some others. Bill and Goretex spit fire and i actually like Necro's verse although he is clearly more accomplished behind the boards but whilst by no means a great mc i enjoy listening to the fat lisping fool . 4/5

Peace Sells

Best beat on the album and one of Necro's dopest ever. Bill chats more violence and it still doesn't bore me. Great flow and lyrics. "Peace sells but who's buying" 4.5/5

Unstoppable

This sample has been flipped by some great producers. MF Doom (King Geedorah) on "Anti Matter" from the album Take Me to Your Leader was first then Mathematics on "Gangsta", this track produced by Necro and also RZA on "You Can't Stop Me Now" from his forthcoming album Digi Snacks. Pretty sure a few more aswell but none worth mentioning, Anyway you know I love anything by RZA but i've gotta say I like Necro's beat better than any of the others, its sick. Bill talks about how he is "Unstoppable" and has overcome alot of shit to make it where he is and will never give up aiming for the top. More boasting, violent talk etc. but its what Bill does. 4/5

Death Smiles at Murder

Classic dark Necro beat, similar to those on Gory Days. This track features Mr Hyde not a big fan of Hyde but Bill again comes hard (no homo) They speak about the violence infecting America. Typical psychological records death rap with factual references to some famous murders. 3.5/5

Chasing the Dragon

Holy Shit! Necro does it again behind the boards! and this time graces us with 2 lispy, no flow yet incredibly entertaining verses. I assumed this track would be about taking heroin but im not actually that sure. I think what they are saying is that Violence is more addictive than chasing the dragon or their music is better! fuck knows. i dont really care its a dope hardcore hiphop track as long as you can stand Necro and I can. 3.5/5

Alien Workshop

Yet again Necro produces a great beat. This one has a kind of oriental feeling to it almost RZA esque. 1 verse long about Aliens. Decent track 3/5

Canarsie Artie’s Brigade

Another incredibly dope Necro beat. This one features Necro, Q-Unique and Goretex. Canarsie is where Bill grew up in Brooklyn. Again not a whole lot of substance lyrically just hard hitting lyrics about violence and how dope they are. Q-Unique is dope as always and Bill’s verse is dope too. Goretex holds his own and Necro is Necro. 4/5

Porno Director

Slight change in subject here! Featuring Goretex and Sabac Red. All 3 still talk about how dope and hard they are but also boast about bitches they’ve banged. Starts with Uncle Howie telling a story about a bitch, probably his delusional drug ruined mind lying to him. All 3 verses are nice. Sabac annoys me a bit when he gets all political but he’s ok on this. Need I even bother saying it’s another sick necro beat. Quite dark 3.5/5

American History X

This is getting kind of boring but Ive gotta say it again. Ill beat by Necro, one of the most outstanding of many stand outs on the album. Another repetitive theme Bill raps about violence but this time with a political twist. He talks about how the government encourages violence and basically how fucked up the US is. Real dope track 4.5/5

Uncle Zowie

Uncle Howie Skit. Skipped as soon as he started talking so dunno what its about

Legend Has It

Sounds like a beat from the future is now by Non Phixion. Not my favorite beat on the album but still nice, seems Necro can do no wrong on this record. 3.5/5

The Final Scene

Decent track. ive now lost the power to think more let alone write more. 3/5

Chasing the Dragon (Moshpit Mix)

Chasing the Dragon but with a death metal guitar riff. I’m no metal expert but I quite like this, but fuck it I prefer the original so won’t listen again I doubt. 3/5

Bill sounds angry throughout the whole LP and whilst by no means a great MC it isn’t painful to listen to him. Necros beats are doooppppeee and are what makes this lp close to a classic in my opinion but there is something missing. Probably subject matter but whatever I think everyone should own this

Grade = B+
