EVENT HORIZON

Plot:

A spaceship (the Event Horizon) was sent into space to test new technology, creating a black hole to instantly go to any other point. Something went wrong however and it disappeared. Now, 7 years later, it has resurfaced. A rescue team heads out to its location to investigate.

Acting:

It was alright. No one shined, no one was completely terrible. It had the typical "types" of characters (the comic relief black guy, mandatory chick, crazy guy, leader that sacrifices himself, etc.)

Horror:

It wasn't especially scary, or even really scary at all. It had the standard fake horror ideas (dramatic music, stuff jumping out, camera angle focusing on character and then he turns and there's something behind him, etc.)

The idea of it though it's a little frightening. Not going to spoil the movie but the idea that "it" could possibly be this close to us is unnerving.

Overall:

Nothing new, nothing innovative, but an alright movie. A psychological horror in space. It had some good moments (I'm just going to say that going into space without a suit=bad) and some average ones. Overall not a bad movie.

6.5/10
