SKIN by Ted Dekker

A freak storm that spawned three tornadoes bears down on the town of
Summerville. Yet under cover of the storm looms a much more ominous threat: a
vindictive killer known as Red who's left a string of victims in his wake and is
now bent on exacting his revenge on the unsuspecting citizens.
But an enigma
surrounds Red that the FBI is unwilling to admit - closely guarded secrets of
something gone terribly wrong beneath the skin of Summerville, secrets capable
of destroying far more than one small town.
Wendy Davidson is caught in the
middle. The recovering cult survivor takes refuge in Summerville on her way to
visit her estranged mother. And with her, four strangers, any one of whom could
be the next victim...or the killer. 400 pages, hardcover from WestBow.

Ted Dekker is one of my favorite authors at this time. A very smart man who makes everything he does gripping. This book however disappointed me a little. I expected it to be better but the ending kinda sucked. I don't want to spoil anything so I wont. The plot was decent wasn't as good as all his others but what I like about Dekker is his smarts and his action packed books. He writes spiritual thrillers. Anyways the plot gets a lot deeper as the stroy unfolds. As the cover says the more you go in the more you find. Each character has something to hide and things they fear. The killer is here to exploit this. They get caught up in this game of vengeance in which they must obey a gunslinging Serial Killer. As crazy as e is he's a genius and a gripping villain. He makes sure he finds the "Ugly" within each character. All this leads up to an ending you never saw coming. Problem is the ending didn't satisfy me. It seemed undone and lame to end it that way. Point is Skin is a good book still at least worth a read if you love page turners.
